F. Nelson Smith

Florence Nelson Smith, otherwise known as "Flee" was born in Medicine Hat and has been writing most of her life; novels, short stories, and poetry.  She has an accounting designation and a degree in Economics from the University of Alberta. Besides writing, her hobbies include genealogical research and figure skating.  Hard work and fun was rewarded with a Skate Canada Gold test medal in dance.

After a career working in various cities in Alberta and British Columbia, she now resides in Red Deer, Alberta.

Her first full-length novel, No Straight Thing, was picked up by Bear Hill Books, a small indie publisher, and it has been a long rewarding relationship with her 4th novel to be published in the first quarter of 2024.

F. Nelson Smith is quickly gaining respect in the mystery genre, with No Straight Thing getting a starred review from BlueInk and a feature in their recommended reading list in Booklist Magazine. Her latest title, Jack Tuesday, reached 9th bestselling Mystery in the month it was released.

Her readers enjoy her concise style and colourful, thought-out characters. An adventurous spirit, unique experience, and a dedication to in-depth research shine through Smith's writing and is greatly appreciated by readers.

She spends her time enjoying life and her large family consisting of two children, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. But she still finds time to come up with fascinating and thrilling stories.
