Blog and Marketing Problems

I am so excited to finally see my book in its actual cover and ready to go!

Many of you are aware that for the last five years I am a full time caregiver to my husband. Which has its pros and cons, namely that I find time this winter to write and plot new stories, but it gives me little or no time to market said novels. Publishers require the author travel about on book tours and sales promotions, and it causes a few frowns when I say it is impossible for me. I've convinced them that I may be able to do the same thing with the help of my Facebook friends.

And here it comes...a special request to my friends to share the debut of No Straight Thing with their Facebook friends, and so on and so on. Kind of like a GoFundMe plea with no actual request for money, but asks to purchase a book. If you are averse to sharing these kind of things, I will understand that you will not share, but hopefully, you will buy it for yourself, and tell others if you like what you read.

Of course, any reader must find the book interesting and a good read. But whatever you think, I'd really like to hear any remarks as well and I've set up a new email address for that reason fleeletters@gmail.com So if you have any comments, pro or con, please let me know, either in the contact me section or use the email address above.

There is a period of about ten days between when the book is published and the publisher's catalogue goes out to the retailers. If you pre-order a book during that period, the publisher ships books to the outlet, so there will be stock on hand without waiting for it. Otherwise when you go online to purchase you might see an "Out of Stock" comment. I'll send out a post with a link to various retailers if you find it convenient to pre-order.

Whew! this is all new to me and I'm learning the book business doesn't end with submitting a mss to a publisher. And I thought writing was the hard part!

Till next time, thanks for visiting my web site.
